My crosman 781 barrel is loose and can be turned. Also the front sight is also loose can be turned independently of the barrel. My crosman 2289 also has a loose front sight.
How to secure the barrel ?
How to align and secure front sight ? Is there any precise method ?

barrel twisting 781
The barrel can be twisted on my crosman 781. Should I return it to Walmart ?
Papaburger, to fix the sight, all you need some two part epoxy, or something like JBWeld.
Procedure: Take front sight off gun. Mix up the epoxy and smear it sparingly on the inside of the sight. Put the sight back on the muzzle. Holding the (assuming you are right-handed) sight in your left hand and the grip in your right, bring the gun to your should, as if to fire. Look at the notch in the rear sight and turn the front sight with your left hand so it's aligned. Set it down and leave it alone for two days.

Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

barrel band screw
Thanks abshooter.
My barrel can also be twisted along the barrel axis. I took apart the 781 (this is my first time taking apart an airgun), and found that the barrel is not fixated at the transfer port , but secured by the barrel band and barrel screw. Anyway, I visually re-aligned the transfer port with barrel , tighten barrel band screw, and reassemble the rifle (a very painstaking process). Now the barrel does not twist but the front sight is tilted. Once I get the front off, i will use epoxy. But there is no screws on the front sight !! I don't know how to get it off without doing something violent.
It makes me wonder how does crosman factory assemble the rifle. I only have the 781 for 2 days (2289 for 2 months) and already things are mis-aligned on the rifles.

if you have only had the 781 for 2 days take it back dont mess with it ,,defects happen at times,, the 2289 is a pressure fit front site tap it back on gently with a hammer if that does not work then its a defective fornt site either retun the gun to the store,or order a new front site.crosman might send you a new fornt site for free if its under warranty or they my not but its worth a call to see, dont start glueing stuff togeter..

ok to properly take the fornt site off the 2289 and 2240 barrels etc etc.. take a small block of wood rest it on the back end for the fornt site and tap gently and it will pop off without any problems, as for aligning the front site on the 2289 and 2240 gun barrels the barrelhave a notch and the fornt site has a notch that lines it self back up again when pressed back on smiply tap gently and it lines it self up. as for the 781 i dont have a parts plan for it so i cant tel you much there but i still say take it back and get a new one if you are still having problems with it....
