my chrony

#2 Post by papaburger »

I just received a F1 Chrony from Lebaron. Is is about $130 with shipping. I am getting "Error 2" frequently (especially if I shoot bb ). If it is not in error, I think it is giving correct results becase 400 fps for my stock 2289 is consistent with other member's stock 2289.

here is my setup. I am using energy-saving lamps (60WATT EQUIVALENT).

Hi papaburger,

Try using regular 40W or 60W bulbs.

I will try regular light this weekend.

Hopefully that will get rid of the errors.

For $ 170, you get the Master F1, it comes with 15ft cord from the detector unit to the readout, 2 light bulb mounts specially fitted for the chrony and 2x 40w bulbs.

Hi Papaburger, ERROR means that the second sensor did not detect the passage of the pellet. Could cause by poor light or poor alignment.
As Todd mentioned try to use regular bulb, I think it's a good idea. Those sensors don't like any light that shine like a neon bulb.

You can get a reconditioned F1 Chrony from the factory for $74.93 plus tax, but you have to wait for one to show up. Some recondition ones looked a bit beat-up, but works fine. http://www.shootingchrony.com/products_SCMMCM.htm

LeBaron sells new F1 Chronys for about $105.

Thanks for the info.
echrony.com = chronotar.com ........manage by the same people.
They're addr. at Willowdale-Toronto but office in Mississauga.
The half decent system they have is CE3 but still doesn't come with
lights for indoor use and it's $ 139.50, I think it's USD. The good
thing is already come with software & comp. interface.
