Black Powder, that is. Having the monthly postal match over on the ALR forum americanlongrifles dot com. So far this month, this is the winning target. The criteria is hunting rifles, ie: open sights no peeps (or scopes) - offhand, 25 yards. This load develops 1,225fps with that powder charge, with the 482gr. round ball, so 1,606fpe. It is a close range target load. I use 165gr. for moose with the same ball, developing 1,550fps ...

Post subject: Police Murdered my friend, Posted: Thu Nov 18, 2021 5:06 pm |

I am shocked to find out today that the police murdered my friend Roger in what appears to be a no nock raid. He was a world class licensed professional gunsmith and resident Ontario IPSC cz75 expert and machinist and did my custom work on my IPSC guns back in my competition days. He was a really nice , super honest trustworthy guy. Everyone liked him , he did custom work for police, IPSC , ...

Had this on my Marlin 1895. Scope is lightly used. Looks new. has the vortex flip caps, Leupold qd low rings. The rail is in decent shape. Has been installed a couple times and shows a couple marks.
Asking $350 plus shipping for the package. Located near Edmonton.

Finally blooded my tikka 270wsm last night. Got a nice white tail buck. Lots of fat on him. Must have been eating the alfalfa.
Anyway, 150gr accubond, 275 yards right through the boiler. Picked the bullet out the skin on the exit . Perfect performance, he went about 10 yards and laid down.
I donno if this is the wrong forum or not...

Post subject: Took the new hunting rifle out to sight in today Posted: Tue Sep 21, 2021 12:07 am |

Picked up an old Ruger M77 stainless iron sighted canoe paddle stocked 300wm a while ago. Just put an old VXIII 2.5-8x on it and sighted it in at the range today. Wonderful rifle, 1 moa with factory Remington 180gr core lokt right of the bat. Smacked the 200m gong around for some fun and practice. Once I was feeling a little punch drunk I broke out the 77/22 then the Crosman Vantage .22 to ...

Thinking about getting a Browning Hi-Power pistol. Anyone here have experience with one? How are they compared to other modern pistols? Where would the best place be to look for one? Thanks

Post subject: MilSurp Mauser safety question Posted: Sun Jun 06, 2021 6:35 am |

I've got a sporterized Antique Status KAR1871 - all matching serial numbers, decent bore, solid action - but it will fire with the flag safety in the upright safe position and even the right side safe position if I pull the trigger. The sear contact seems to be ok - it won't fire if I thump the butt on the floor (unloaded, naturally!). I'd like to get the safety tuned before I take it into ...
