Post subject: archer airguns qb seal kit , an unexpected 16% perf. boost
PostPosted: Fri Dec 14, 2007 4:05 pm
i recently changed all my qb-79 seals with these seals from archer's airguns
They gave a disclaimer that these new improved seals might increase performance, well they weren't kidding.
As a result in this seal job, my gun performance unexpectedly increased by 16%.
The part that really gives you a performance boost is the breech seals , quite a change from the original ones, they allow more flow.

Post subject: Fitco 2X20 pistol scope
PostPosted: Sat Dec 08, 2007 1:23 am
For the money I paid, 50% off...not a bad scope though this is my first pistol scope I've ever own.

Scope is pretty clear and is a nice size for a pistol, kind of balances my 2240 the way I have it now.

Con's are that the click adjustments seem to take a lot to adjust scope to get on target but once on, doesn't appear to move anymore. seems like a couple of shots ...

 Post subject: Crooked Barn breech
PostPosted: Sat Dec 08, 2007 1:14 am
Just received mine and installed it on my Crosman 2240. Nice breech, looks well made but here is what I found so far...remember it's new.

Tricky loading wad cutters pellets but got a tip about pouring candle wax over the tiny breech screw to fix that.

Difficulty cocking the gun, might be a machining thing or needs smoothing out in some areas' time will tell.

Original rear Crosman site doesn't fit properly unless I file ...

 Post subject: The BSA Ultra

The BSA Ultra Carbine .22

This summer I bought the Ultra from BSA since I was in the market for a small 22 short range hunter and I felt the looks of the Ultra was just right for this kind of rifle.

Lloyd at BAR ( ) reduced the power to below 8.00 ft/lbs ME (the legal limit without a permit in Sweden) and shipped the rifle ...

Post subject: RWS 850 AirMagnum far, I'm really impressed...
PostPosted: Mon Nov 12, 2007 12:24 pm
I had read a lot of good things about these guns, and I finally succumbed to the temptation and bought one.

I am not a big fan of synthetic stocks, but the 850 is comfortable, and shoulders well. It is an 8 shot, bolt action repeater, which utilizes a rotary magazine. The action is smooth, and the ergonomics are very "user friendly". The automatic safety must be disengaged on each shot, and to do so, ...

 Post subject: Logun Solo review
PostPosted: Thu Oct 25, 2007 9:10 pm
I purchased The Logun Solo a couple of months ago after trying one that belonged to a friend. I ordered mine from the fellows at Straightshooters. They had one in stock and on sale that was suitable for the Canadian market because it was unshrouded. The guys at SS helped in every way possible with the sale and are a first class act.

Initially I had a small problem with the gun not cocking but ...

 Post subject: Tau-200 Senior rifle
PostPosted: Thu Oct 25, 2007 12:17 am
On another airgun forum I was asked about my Tau-200 rifle. Perhaps my comments to that person, sent by private message, might be of interest to some members of CAF, so, slightly edited, this is what I wrote about the Tau-200:

First of all, I shoot mainly pistols - an HW 40, HW 45 and Tau-7 Match. The Tau-200 Senior is my only rifle. I bought it last Spring and have fired about 3000 shots ...

 Post subject: QB deluxe
PostPosted: Fri Oct 19, 2007 8:41 am
I just got a new QBD from Dan at sniper airguns. It is so beautiful! It's a Christmas present for me, and I'll have to wait until next cottage season, to see how it shoots.
